We ensure transparency between companies and candidates

Candidates express that they feel heard when engaging with us and that they are met with integrity, proximity and uncompromising quality. These core values are the foundation of our work, enabling us to build strong relationships and mutual understanding that drive long-term results in our assignments.

Transparency and a shared frame of reference are essential across all aspects of work – from our methods and processes to ensuring that we and our partners fully align in our definitions, such as what we mean by "a lot" or "a little."

Successful recruitment goes beyond professional qualifications. Personality – encompassing qualities, knowledge, attitudes and motivation – must also align between the candidate and the company.

How can we be certain of what we say?

We know because we consistently request feedback from candidates and clients about their experience with us, as well as evaluations during follow-ups. This ongoing feedback reinforces our statements and is also reflected in our references.

With a success rate of over 99% in our placements and clients and candidates who have stayed with us over the years, we can confidently state that satisfaction is high. Through regular follow-ups within the first 12 months of each placement, we ensure continued satisfaction for both clients and candidates.

Through our process, you can be assured of the following:

  • That we have gained the most comprehensive understanding possible of the role we are recruiting for, capturing it as accurately as possible in our materials.
  • That the client’s representative has also undergone a personality and leadership style assessment with us to create a shared frame of reference for success.
  • That we maintain complete confidentiality for any information you wish to keep private.
  • That we always present a role accurately.
  • That we communicate the next steps in the process and ensure that no one is overlooked in our workflows.
  • That we operate in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • That you are welcome to send your CV to cv@laigaard.com

Our process

Integrity, proximity, trust and a shared frame of reference are at the heart of our approach to finding the right candidate. These core values drive our commitment to go the extra mile, setting us apart with our presentation of qualified candidates – a result of our thorough process.

We understand that a candidate’s personality – including their expertise, qualities, values, attitudes and motivation – is as essential to success in a role as their professional skills.

As a candidate, you can expect…

At the beginning of the process, we will contact you for an initial screening for the position we are handling. If we assess that you are a good fit for the role and are interested in exploring new opportunities, we will invite you for an interview. During this interview, we will share detailed information about the position and the company, and we will also gather insights into your professional and personal qualifications, values, background and career development.

If both you and we are interested in moving forward, we will work with you to identify individuals who know you well professionally and personally and who can provide references. This may include chairs, board members, directors or colleagues with whom you have closely collaborated. We will only contact these references with your consent.

In our recruitment process, all candidates undergo thorough interviews, assessments and tests, as well as comprehensive reference checks

As part of this process, you may be asked to complete a personality assessment, cognitive tests, and leadership style evaluations, depending on the requirements of the role.

We guarantee complete confidentiality, and your data will only be shared with your consent.

The assessment results serve as a valuable foundation for a deeper discussion. During this conversation, we also incorporate insights from the references we have gathered, creating a thorough view of your personal and professional profile, skills, leadership qualities and career history.

Presentation of qualified candidates

For each candidate we present, we prepare a comprehensive set of presentation materials, which is provided to the client ahead of the in-person presentation. To ensure discretion, presentations are always held at a neutral location for the candidates. Candidates, who are being presented, also receive a copy of their presentation materials prior to the in-person presentation. Following this session, where both the candidate and client have a opportunity to get to know each other, we present the results of our reference checks, tests and assessments to the client.

The entire process typically takes between 2 to 4 months.

Systematic follow-up to ensure long-term success

We conduct follow-ups on the collaboration between the client and candidate at 2, 4, 8, and 12 months.

For chairs and board members, follow-ups are conducted at 6 and 12 months.

This approach ensures satisfaction for both parties and supports a successful, long-term partnership.

How to write a strong CV

  • Be specific: If you are submitting your CV unsolicited, specify the types of roles you are interested in so we can consider it for relevant opportunities.
  • Objective facts and achievements: We look for concrete facts and measurable results, so make sure to include these in your CV.
  • Provide detail and precision: While a CV for board positions can be concise, it should still emphasize your core competencies and the value you bring.
  • Chronological format: For full-time positions, your CV should present your career in chronological order, with precise month and year details for each position and educational milestone. Add company links under each role for easy reference.
  • Responsibilities and tasks: Describe your responsibilities, key tasks and how you approached and accomplished them.
  • Clarity: Keep your CV clear and easy to read by avoiding unnecessary information.
  • We have no specific length requirement for CVs. A thorough, well-detailed description is more important to us than a superficial CV.
